MEDIA RELEASE

PRIMUS TELECOM WI FI NETWORK EXPANDS TO OVER 100 HOTSPOTS THROUGH
PARTNERSHIP WITH XONE

	Melbourne, Australia - August 25, 2003 -- Primus Telecom Australia, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of McLean, Virginia-based PRIMUS Telecommunications
Group, Incorporated (NASDAQ: PRTL) today announced a strategic partnership
with leading wireless Internet provider, Xone, to offer customers access to
39 new wireless hotspots around Australia.

The new hotspots will provide customers of Primus Telecom's Internet service
provider, iPrimus, with access to high-speed wireless broadband at locations
in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and south-east Queensland.

The Xone network, which includes 25 hotspots in Sydney, will significantly
increase the opportunity for iPrimus subscribers to take advantage of
wireless services at cafes, hotels and restaurants in the major metropolitan
centres.

These new locations are in addition to 67 sites already available to iPrimus
broadband wireless customers around Australia.

Campbell Sallabank, Primus Telecom General Manager Product Development and
Strategy said he was delighted to be involved in the partnership with Xone
which would significantly expand iPrimus's wireless coverage.

"For customers who value the flexibility and mobility of wireless broadband,
there will now be more locations providing secure access to the Web, email
and corporate networks.

"We are committed to delivering a superior wireless service to our customers
and will continue to add new sites as opportunities arise," Mr Sallabank
said.

Primus Telecom's partnership with Xone supplements its existing arrangement
with Australian wireless Internet provider, Azure, and its international
partnership with iPass to provide hotspots across 17 countries.

iPrimus broadband wireless is a rapidly expanding service which enables
customers to connect to the Internet even when away from the home or office.
It is possible to surf the web, e-mail clients, co-workers and friends and
connect to a corporate network via a Virtual Private Network - all at speeds
faster than a 56k dial-up connection.

Wireless Internet access is a key technology allowing greater mobility and
flexibility for companies and employees to carry out their business in a
secure, high-speed environment.

"Primus Telecom is committed to expanding the quality and coverage of the
network as customers and venue owners increasingly recognise the value of
establishing hotspots in landmark locations," said Mr Sallabank.
