Dunno about stability ("wandering"), but I'd be quite sure that the Tx
output could become rather "dirty".  Pushing transmitters "too hard" tends
to dramatically increase the level of spurious emission.

I certainly wouldn't do any of the higher power mods, without access to a
spectrum analyser.  It would make more sense to buy an amp, if more power
was really needed.  Even better, tweak the antenna. :)
