[MLB-WIRELESS] Making the thing that extends to the focal point

Excuse the very vague subject but I have no idea what the pole thingy that 
extends to the focal point is called. :)
Anyway I have this partial antenna 
(http://members.optushome.com.au/java.boy/dish.jpg). It has a focal point 
of 215 mm and has the following markings on it, 19 dB, 25 dB and 15 dB.

I saw a picture from Big Day In of a home made centre thingy at

And was wondering if anyone had any websites which detail how to make one 
of the things. :)
