Can anyone recommend a cheap, easy antenna which I could use to increase the
coverage inside my house? I've got the PC with the wireless card upstairs
and I tend to lose the signal when I go to the opposite end of the house
downstairs (it's solid brick)
 
 
Any of the omnis takled about should do.  Low gain would be best for your
application.  Also, look at siting your AP so the signal can get around
brick walls as easily as possible.  If you're not using an AP, then that's
an option (albeit, slightly pricey :) ).
