Has anyone seen anything like this before? Links? Pictures?
On one of our sites they are looking at a possible solution for a remote
site in which conventional wired access isn't possible.
802.11b had been suggested in a meeting and my ears pricked up :)
I wouldn't have thought that the omni's on normal AP's would have been
strong enough to be practical for this type of application ( assuming that
a directional antenna wouldn't have enought stability on a balloon!).
I believe they intend to do something like the following :
remote wired router with wireless nic -> direction antenna -> balloon AP ->
ground based AP -> clients laptops.
Thanks
Lucas
