[MLB-WIRELESS] Is co-linear antenna the same as omni ??

A 'omni' is an omni-directional antenna, a class of antennas that do
not have particular directionality. In order to have 'gain' over an
ficticious isotropic antenna (one that has equivalent sensitivity in
all directions), the have a 'squashed donut' pattern, where the region
of greatest sensitivity is a 360o region around the horizontal. This
makes them ideally suited for clients that are approximately (say
within 10 degrees) the same height but in all directions on the flat
surface of the earth.

A co-linear antenna is a particular instance of an omni-directional.

Roger.
