Well in that case, what is the purpose of having a mailing list?  Just run a
'web board' to maintain the context.  Seriously, if the context of the
previous few comments (from which the response is derrived) the possible
number of interpretations of that response increases in a large way -- large
enough that I believe anyone reasonably interested in looking at 'new' ideas
(ie ones outside the current scope of their knowledge) will have a very
difficult time interpreting the ideas presented, as a "response" doesn't
usually contain enough details to be able to follow a persons train of
thought in and of itself.

By my rough calculations, that should be less than 10gig for 12 years,
uncompressed.  Due to the large amount of redundancy, compression could
probably reduce that by between 5 and 10 fold.

80 gig for 315.   10 gig drives are like 145, 20 155, 40 210 and 80 315.
Who in their right mind wouldn't buy an 80?
