[MLB-WIRELESS] AP's and DHCP next meeting

We had that at the last meeting Jason, it was happening under your nose
:-)

My notebook was running Windows 2000 server and providing DHCP, DNS,
WINS, SMB shares (and a whole host of un-patched Microsoft
vulnerabilities) to the "re-cased Compaq Access Point" via PoE.

A couple of people connected to "GeelongWireless" and were allocated a
DHCP address. If more "stumbled" they could have too!

I might bring a similar setup next month, depending on what equipment I
have at ground level then!!!

Cheers,
      Andy.

Just a thought for the next meeting, it might be a good idea if someone
could volunteer an access point or two (like deafb) hooked up to a DHCP
server so people on the night could set their systems up in BSS mode and
as
DHCP clients and get on with talking to each other (over wireless, of
course).
