If you have a recentish Mac, go ahead and install OSX on another partition
on you hard drive.  It's really very cool and the latest versions have moved
beyond the 'public beta' status.  It's now a legitimate choice for general
use, or development.  Best of both worlds I say!!!

BTW. OSX is built around a Unix core.  ;)
