The PCI motherboard edge connector (where all the gold fingers/pins are)
has a long section about 63mm long, followed by a 2mm gap and then a
smaller section about 14mm long. The total length of the edge connector is
just shy of 80mm. ISA is longer and the pins have a much thicker pitch
than PCI.
Some of the newer mobos (like my Abit K7T) have one ISA bus connector, but
I think ISA is pretty much dead now. Don't expect any mobo's made this
year to sport them. ISA is quite distinct from the more numerous PCI bus
slots if the board has ISA slots because it is longer. New PCI adapters
are about AUS$100 or so.
