| If I put two access points within range of each other, will the traffic
| received on one be sent to the other, like a wireless bridge? Or is it
| a feature only of particular APs?
|
| I'm looking at the D-Link DWL-900AP+ and DWL-1000AP+ APs. The info on the
| DWL-1000AP+ talks about a "repeater mode". Is this what I am looking
| for? Will this sort of thing not work with the 900AP+?

There is supposedly firmware that works like this, it was sent to the list
about a week or two ago?

| Also, the 1000AP+ has two antennas. What can and can't I do with this?
| I don't quite understand the deal with diversity. Can I stick a
| directional antenna in one socket, make an ad hoc link over that, and
| put an omni on the other socket, and find that everything works as I
| want it to?

The understanding of diversity I have is that it will pick the stronger
signal at each interval, it doesn't monitor both. I may be wrong however.
