Hello Ben,

Fact is most people don't live in rural areas... So chances are most
on this list won't be in rural areas either... Hell some are likely to
be in Europe/UK where the legal limit is 100mW, what the hells an Amp
going to do for them? (Apart from getting them into a lot of trouble,
they have to use cable to increase loss just to use directional
antenna legally)

BR> Bah. Every time someone mentions amp, the old mother hens here make a sign with
BR> their two index fingers to ward off the evil spirits.
BR> Grow up. Not everyone considering an amp lives in suburbia and wants to blast
BR> through 10 high-rise apartment blocks and a "green" hill or two.

BR> Some of us live in areas where you can count the number of houses along a 10km
BR> link on one hand. And suffer fresnel interference along the way.
BR> Similarly, some of us may intend to use a wide spread omni alongside a 30mw card
BR> on a distant hilltop. EIRP won't even be close with that setup.
BR> Of course, if you even THINK of adding a 1W bidi-amp to that mix, God will

BR> So could the righteous protectors of the ISM band please pipe down and allow
BR> DISCUSSION of amp use instead of shouting it down in a hail of flames?
BR> Some of us are actually interested in their use in a legitimate-needs basis?

BR> That said, if any of us actually IMPLEMENT an amp, you can
BR> still come and burn a cross, sacrifice a lamb or perform a exorcism on our
BR> front lawns. Dirty, horrid people using amps. *spit*

BR> Geddit ?!
