Bah. Every time someone mentions amp, the old mother hens here make a sign with
their two index fingers to ward off the evil spirits.
Grow up. Not everyone considering an amp lives in suburbia and wants to blast
through 10 high-rise apartment blocks and a "green" hill or two.

Some of us live in areas where you can count the number of houses along a 10km
link on one hand. And suffer fresnel interference along the way.
Similarly, some of us may intend to use a wide spread omni alongside a 30mw card
on a distant hilltop. EIRP won't even be close with that setup.
Of course, if you even THINK of adding a 1W bidi-amp to that mix, God will
descend down and eat your cods for breakfast. Not.

So could the righteous protectors of the ISM band please pipe down and allow
DISCUSSION of amp use instead of shouting it down in a hail of flames?
Some of us are actually interested in their use in a legitimate-needs basis?

That said, if any of us actually IMPLEMENT an amp, you can
still come and burn a cross, sacrifice a lamb or perform a exorcism on our
front lawns. Dirty, horrid people using amps. *spit*

Geddit ?!
