Subject: [Perth Wireless] ANNOUNCING: The Downpipe Waveguide Antenna
===8<==============Original message text===============
All Hobbyists,
I have fiddled around with a 'cheaper' version of the Trevor Marshall
Waveguide antenna (as used by most APs in Perth). I concluded my testing
yesterday, and the 'cheap' version (made from ZincAlum downpipe)
performed 2 dB better than my original 3mm Aluminium waveguide antenna.
Considering this antenna is so much easier to make, (and material is
MUCH easier to get)....this is a good choice for us Hobbyists. (I am not
recommending for 'commercial' installations).
Also....found some UV-resistant, microwave-transparent tape!
For details, see:

Cheers
Rob
