[MLB-WIRELESS] Using a MR314 to route a dialup connection?

Putting filesharing options aside (ftp using NetPresenz to share the
Mac suffices a lot of the time for me), I assume that the bottom line
is that you want to be able to surf the web wirelessly from your Mac,
via your dialup?

That seems doable, but the sort of issue you're really up against is
how are IPs on your internal network (ie between the PC's ethernet
port and the Netgear's router) allocated so that they can see each
other?

I assume hardwiring both addresses would be the easiest way. Is the
Win95 box connected to the WAN port of the Netgear? If so, you need
to set the default route of the netgear to point to the PC's ethernet
card IP.
Use the Internet Access Setup menu in the router to point directly to
the IP you've assigned in WinRoute.

As ping's not built in to the MacOS, I'd recommend a copy of
Interarchy Pro which contains a few different ping tools. Having a
low level tool will save you a lot of grief.

In Windoze you can ping from the Start menu just by typing ping
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx from the Run.. prompt (but I guess you knew that...)

cheers,
Hugh
