oh, okay.  i thought the rg-1000 was an aerial or something.  you can
re-do the sums with the power for this thing.  and add the cost of a 12V
(ie car) to 9V *regulated* plugpack with a sufficient current rating.

1.1 amp / 0.85 efficiency = 1.3 amp x 12 volt = 15.5 watts x 4 =  60 watts

60 watts of panels = $600

1.3 amp x 48 hours = 62 Ah of batteries

for a system of three locations it might be worthwhile getting quotes from
professional solar installers.  and if their is a substantial difference in
the power requirements between the apple and lucent base stations, it will
obviously cost a lot less to set for one rather than the other.
