GASP...

Yes I believe this is the problem.  But at this stage I need it running
to attempt connections :)  If it fails Orinoco is looking good.
Although I can get some Netgear's nice and cheap.  Fingers crossed they
can talk.

More to the point like most early Proxim products they are FHSS
(Frequency 
Hopping Spread Spectrum) rather than the DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread 
Spectrum).  This means that it will not talk with the 802.11b products 
which are DSSS.
