well think of it in the wired world, if you get hacked, and the attacker
uses your box to hack someone else, would you get sued? probably not,
but,
hey i guess you can sue for anything.

as for security, there's plenty of things you can do, such as
firewalling
your wireless box from the rest of your network, running NoCatAuth
(http://nocat.net/) for authentication, tunneling your data via SSH,
SSL,
etc, etc.
