Is the domU that crashes 32 or 64bit?
You can also try this on an Ubuntu 12.04 installation:
sudo apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install linux-image-virtual
Copy vmlinuz-$VER-virtual and initrd.img-$VER-virtual on the troubled
Xen node and edit the cfg to load the native Ubuntu kernel and initrd.
Start the domU from the command line like this, then paste the output
on the list:
xm create -f /home/xen/vm605/vm605.cfg -c
