This is standard CentOS 6 64bit with SolusVM as we were always doing it.
Here is the grub.conf:

[root at xenhost06 ~]# cat /etc/grub.conf
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.
# root (hd1,1)
# kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/sda1
# initrd /initrd-[generic-]version.img
#boot=/dev/sda

I didn't say anything about the Dom0.

The DomU install you are using is broken. I'm not sure what OS it is, maybe
Ubuntu? Download the Ubuntu install ISO again and install it from scratch.
Or maybe you can fix /etc/grub.conf or the grub2 config by hand in the DomU
filesystem and make it work again.

ie, start looking in: /dev/vps/vm606_img
